Job Title: Sessional Playworker
Hours: 0-hour contract, mainly after school, on weekends and during holidays.
Salary: £10 – 12 per hour
We are currently growing our team of sessional Playworkers or ‘Play Rangers’ in response to a demand for community-based exciting play opportunities for children and young people in East Lothian.
ELPA facilitates and supports children’s play in a range of ways through various projects. We run our own play sessions as well as activities in partnership with other East Lothian organisations.
ELPA’s goal is to promote and enrich a culture of play in East Lothian and in 2020 was proud to receive an international award for our work to support children’s right to play during COVID-19. ELPA is a partner in two European play projects, one with a focus on Loose Parts Play, and is known for its creative and nimble approach.
Children’s right to play is at the heart of all our plans, projects and partnerships including local spaces, loose parts play, inclusion or school playtimes.
