Loose Parts Play Project
24 hrs per week
Salary: £25,549 (pro rata)
East Lothian Play Association (ELPA) is delighted to invite applications for a new post working in the Musselburgh Partnership Area of East Lothian.
The role involves working with community settings, primary schools and nursery classes to develop Loose Parts play provision in their play environments. The Development Officer will have an excellent understanding of the benefits of this type of play, be resourceful and have the skills to lead the project in partnership with each setting. The applicant must be able to facilitate and deliver training to children, staff and in community settings. The successful applicant will have excellent communication skills, a clear understanding of child development and the benefits of play, a creative and dynamic personality and excellent interpersonal skills for working with both children and adults. The successful applicant will be expected to work with colleagues to gather evidence of and report on outcomes.
The post will initially run for 1 year and it is hoped that extension will be possible for a further year.

- interviews will be held on Monday 29th January
- by arrangement, selected candidates will be invited to deliver a short loose parts play session with children (day and time by arrangement within 10 days of interview)
- Anticipated start date for this post is 5th March subject to PVG and reference checks.
